Vehicle Wrap Removal is a lengthy process, but if it’s done right, your paint job should be in the exact condition it was in the day vinyl was applied. That’s where Chicago Fleet Wraps comes in. The right tools combined with an experienced team of vinyl removers results in a car that’s as good as the day you brought it in. We do wrap removals for wraps we installed, as well as one’s we didn’t install.
Central Image Wraps uses the combination of a plastic razor blade and heat from a torch gun resulting in a seamless vinyl wrap removal.
THINGS TO NOTE
Wraps can last up to 10 years, but prolonged exposure to the sun can cause the vinyl to crack and dry out. Once cracking begins, removal becomes more challenging, requiring the wrap to be taken off piece by piece using a plastic razor blade and a heat torch or heat gun. The heat rejuvenates the vinyl, making it easier to peel off.
ADHESIVE REMOVAL
After removing all the pieces of the wrap, adhesive residue often remains. At Central Image Wraps, we use high-quality vinyl from Avery and 3M, which usually minimizes adhesive left behind. However, when removing wraps we didn’t install, any remaining adhesive can’t be scraped off. Instead, we use a chemical called Rapid Remover by RapidTac, followed by an IPA alcohol wipe-down to eliminate any lingering toxic chemicals.
