What Fleet Wrap Services Are Available in Bucktown?

Full wraps, partial wraps, cut lettering, color change, window graphics and removal of an old print, all produced and fitted at 4711 N Lamon Ave #7 in Portage Park. From Damen and North that is roughly 15 minutes up the Kennedy.

Bucktown work lands in three buckets. Renovation and trade crews running a Transit, ProMaster or Sprinter. Restaurants, studios and shops running one van or a single branded car. Owners who want a color change on the car they drive and happen to work in the neighborhood. All three are quoted off the same list, and the volume discount starts at two vehicles.

Wicker Park, Logan Square and West Town sit right next door. If your vehicles sleep in more than one of them, we batch the pickups and hold the units in secure indoor storage overnight instead of shuttling the same route four times.

Vehicle Wrap Pricing for Bucktown Businesses

Single unit, full coverage, installed, design included. The figure does not move because the vehicle lives in Bucktown rather than Berwyn.

VehicleFull coverageLighter coverage
Sedan or passenger carFrom $2,950Cut lettering from $590
Pickup truck (F-150, Silverado)From $3,500Partial from $1,925
Cargo van (Transit, ProMaster, Express)From $4,200Partial from $2,300
Sprinter 144From $4,200Partial from $2,300
Sprinter 170 high roofFrom $6,000Partial from $3,300

Coverage scales the number: a partial sits at about 55% of full, cut lettering at about 20%, a color change adds 15%. Pulling an old print off is quoted on its own at roughly 40% of the full-coverage figure, because a print that has baked on a south-facing panel for six summers takes far longer to lift than one that went on last year.

Volume discounts apply per contract and do not stack across orders: 3% at 2 to 4 vehicles, then 7%, 11% and 15% as the count climbs through 5 to 9, 10 to 24 and 25 or more. On cargo vans that is $4,074 per unit at the first step and $3,570 per unit at the top. Wrap spend is generally deductible as a business advertising expense (IRS Pub 535), so put the invoice in front of your tax professional.

Why Vehicle Wraps Work for Bucktown Businesses

Damen, Milwaukee and North are slow, narrow, stop-and-go streets with people on the sidewalk at eye level with your door panel. Nothing like a highway board, where you get a second and a half. Here the reader has time, which means the layout has to carry a trade, a phone number and a city legibly from the next car over, not a logo floating in the middle of an empty panel.

The vehicle is also the first thing a client on a gut rehab sees. Parked in front of a half-finished two-flat, it does the same work as a clean uniform and a tidy dumpster. Our two in-house designers lay the artwork over the real vehicle template before anything prints, so the phone number does not end up split by a body line or swallowed by the slider track.

What we will not do is put a number on how many people see it in a day. Exposure depends entirely on the route, and anybody quoting you a universal daily figure is reciting a number nobody measured on your streets.

How a Bucktown Wrap Gets Built

Seven steps. None of them are handed to a subcontractor.

  1. Measure and photograph. We need the year, make, model and body configuration, meaning 144 or 170 wheelbase, standard roof or high roof, swing doors or a slider, smooth box or riveted. For a mixed fleet we can come to your yard, photograph every unit and write down the variations before a single panel goes to print.
  2. Layout. Our designers build on the actual vehicle template and put the panel breaks where the body already breaks, at door shuts and behind trim, so the seams land where nobody looks for them.
  3. Print. In house on two HP Latex 560 printers and an Epson SureColor R5070, up to 59 inches wide, on Avery Dennison MPI 1105 or 3M IJ180-CV3 cast vinyl.
  4. Laminate. A gloss overlaminate goes over everything on our SEAL equipment. That layer takes the UV and the road salt so the ink underneath does not.
  5. Prep. Wash, then a solvent wipe along every edge, seam and recess. Adhesive failure almost always starts at an edge that still had wax, polish or brake dust on it.
  6. Install. Indoors, in a heated bay, by one of our six installers. Film gets worked out from the middle so air has somewhere to go, then every recess, rivet and deep channel gets post-heated so it stays where it was stretched instead of tenting back out two weeks later.
  7. Return. We photograph the finished unit and drive it back to you.

Why Every Bucktown Install Runs Indoors

Vinyl is a temperature-sensitive material. In cold air the adhesive will not flow down into a recess and the film argues with the squeegee the whole way across a panel. In direct summer sun on a dark door it over-stretches, and the graphic that looked right at noon has crept by the following week. Either way you get a wrap that starts lifting at the edges.

Bucktown adds its own problems. Permit-only residential blocks, metered commercial strips, and side streets too narrow to open a slider and walk a panel around the vehicle. There is nowhere legal to work and nowhere clean to work. So the unit comes to Portage Park instead: roughly 6,000 square feet of dedicated installation space, five bays, and clearance for most commercial vehicles up to about 40 feet long. Secure indoor overnight storage means a van can be dropped the evening before and collected after your last call of the day.

What We Need Before Anything Prints

Having this ready is usually the difference between a quote tomorrow and a quote next week.

  • Vector artwork, so an .ai, .eps or .pdf with live outlines. A logo lifted off a website at 400 pixels wide cannot be blown up to the side of a box truck without turning to mush.
  • The fonts, or permission to substitute something close.
  • Year, make, model and body configuration for every unit, plus the fleet numbers if you want them printed on.
  • Photographs of each vehicle from both sides and the rear, including any existing print, lettering, dents or repainted panels.
  • The phone number and web address written exactly as you want them read, and a decision about which of the two matters more. A van door gives you one dominant line, not three.

There is no separate art charge on a full wrap. If you already hold finished files from another shop, bring them and we will print them, because the artwork is yours.

Frequently Asked Questions, Bucktown Vehicle Wraps

Do you offer free pickup for Bucktown businesses?

Yes, and it is not a line on the invoice. We collect the unit from wherever it sleeps and bring it back finished, at no charge, anywhere in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, Will or McHenry county. Damen and North to 4711 N Lamon Ave #7 is roughly 15 minutes each way.

How long is the vehicle off the road?

A standard cargo van spends one to two business days in the bay. A Sprinter, two to three. A box truck, two to four. Add the two short drives on either end. Most Bucktown work gets slotted inside the same week, so a van handed over on Monday is usually earning again by midweek.

Will the wrap damage the paint underneath?

Not if the paint was sound when the film went on. Cast vinyl is built to release in sheets with heat and patience and leave the factory finish behind, and CFW has zero verified paint-damage claims on record. What wrecks paint is cheap calendered film left on for years past its service life until it goes brittle and shatters into flakes on removal. We install cast film only.

What industries do you wrap in Bucktown?

Gut-rehab and specialty trades, restaurants and bars, design studios, boutique retail, and a steady stream of owner-operators running a single vehicle. By body type: cargo vans, Sprinters, pickups, SUVs, box trucks, and the occasional weekend car going in for a color change.

Bucktown Vehicle Wraps

Bucktown is dense, design-conscious commercial territory along Damen, Milwaukee, and North Avenues, with the 606 trail running through it. Boutiques, restaurants, creative agencies, and home-renovation businesses serving the area's pricey rehabs make up the vehicle base. The aesthetic bar is high here, so tasteful partial wraps, premium lettering, and well-executed color changes outperform anything that looks cheap.

Parking is genuinely hard in Bucktown. Permit zones, metered corridors, and narrow side streets with no room to work on a vehicle curbside. So every install runs through our climate-controlled shop. For the contractors servicing Bucktown's constant renovation activity, a clean wrap signals the same quality the neighborhood expects from the work itself.

With the Damen Blue Line stop and quick Kennedy access, one Bucktown vehicle can cover the near Northwest Side and the Loop inside a single shift. That mileage is the argument for laminating everything we print. The wrap that is still sharp after six Chicago winters is the one with a gloss overlaminate soaking up the salt spray and the sun instead of the ink.

Do you provide free pickup for Bucktown fleet vehicles?

How long does a Bucktown fleet wrap last?

Avery Dennison MPI 1105 and 3M IJ180-CV3 cast vinyl wraps are rated for 5 to 7 years of outdoor use. Bucktown fleet wraps regularly last 5 to 7 years with proper care, even through Chicago winters and summers. We use only cast vinyl, never calendered film.

“The part nobody tells you about a Bucktown job: the install is the easy half. It is the hour before it, wiping solvent into every door edge and recess until the rag comes away clean, that decides whether the thing is still tight in year five.”
Roy, Founder, Chicago Fleet Wraps

How much does a color change wrap cost in Bucktown?

A color change on a car in Bucktown starts at $3,400. That is a 15% premium over the same vehicle in commercial coverage, and the reason is straightforward: there is no logo to hide a seam behind. Jambs get wrapped, handles and mirrors come off, and every edge has to vanish. Finish decides the rest, with gloss and satin at the bottom of the range and color-shift or chrome sitting well above it. The film is 3M 2080 or Avery J55C under a UV overlaminate, which is what lets it release off factory paint years later. Collection and return are included. The Chicago car wrap cost guide itemizes it by vehicle.
