How Much Does a Amazon EDV / Rivian EDV Wrap Cost in Chicago?

A full wrap on a Rivian EDV starts at $6,350 per van, installed. Every other coverage level comes off that number: a 3/4 partial is 55% of it, a door and rear graphics package is 20% of it, and taking a wrap back off at end of life is 40% of it. Design, cast film, printing and the 2-year workmanship warranty are already counted in the per-van price.

DSP volume pricing comes off that base on one contract, and it starts at the second van: 3% off at 2 to 4 vans, 7% at 5 to 9, 11% at 10 to 24, 15% at 25 or more. The tier is set by the order, so a station adding six units gets the same per-van number on all six. Wrap spend is generally deductible as a business advertising expense; ask your tax professional what that means for your entity.

Cost per view depends on the routes your vans run and how long the wrap stays on.

The wrap is also generally tax deductible as a business advertising expense, which can make it even more cost-effective than the sticker price suggests.

What Film Does a Route Van Need?

A delivery van earns its wrap the hard way. Ten hour shifts, constant door cycles, loading docks, alley walls, curb rash, and a Chicago winter of road salt. We build on cast film only: Avery Dennison MPI 1105 or 3M IJ180-CV3. Cast film is poured and cured flat, so there is no tension trapped in the sheet waiting to pull an edge back up.

On an EDV the large flat side panels are the easy part. The work is in the details around them, and that is exactly where cheaper calendered film gives up: the door handle pockets, the mirror arms, the recess behind each wheel, the lower edge that eats slush all winter. Film that shrinks takes the whole panel edge with it, and edge repairs on a van that is on route every day cost more in downtime than the film ever saved.

Every printed panel gets laminated before it leaves the print room, Avery DOL 1460 over the Avery print and 3M 8518 over the 3M print. The laminate is what holds the color against UV and what lets a driver run the van through a wash without scrubbing ink off the graphics. We also keep film off the places it has no business being: no film over a camera lens, a sensor face, a charge-port sealing surface, or the slats of a roll-up rear door. Rear graphics go on the door frame and the rear quarters, which is where the car behind you is reading anyway.

Amazon Delivery Van Wrap ROI for Chicago Businesses

A wrapped Amazon Delivery Van is the single most cost-effective advertising investment a Chicago business can make. The math is straightforward: a full wrap costs $4,200 (legacy Transit) to $6,350 (EDV 700) depending on configuration, lasts 5 - 7 years, and builds route-driven daily exposure (every route is different; see our impressions source analysis).

Over its 5 to 7 year service life, the wrap keeps advertising for that one-time cost, while Google Ads and Chicago billboard placements bill every month. The ROI depends on your industry, your service area, and what each new customer the wrap brings in is worth to you.

For Amazon Delivery Van owners specifically, the wrap also protects factory paint from stone chips, UV fading, and road salt. That helps preserve resale value. When removed professionally, the original paint is in showroom condition. Vehicle wraps are also generally tax deductible as a business advertising expense.

What Does Prep Look Like on a Van That Was On Route This Morning?

A van that came off route an hour ago is not ready for film. Salt haze, brake dust and dock grime have to come off, then each panel gets degreased and wiped down with alcohol, and the body has to be dry into the seams before the first piece goes on. Adhesive does not care how good the print is. It cares whether the surface is clean and dry.

If the van is carrying a previous operator's graphics, those come off first and the adhesive residue comes off with them. Residue left under a new panel telegraphs through the print, and it will be the first thing you see in daylight. Vans that have already been wrapped once take longer to prep than new units, which is worth knowing before you promise a station a date.

We also log what the van looked like when it arrived. Existing dings, scuffs and prior repairs get photographed before anything is applied, so there is a record of the body's condition going in. Film gets removed at end of life rather than being peeled off in strips by whoever has the van next, and the paint comes back out from under it.

Scheduling Around a Station That Cannot Stop

An EDV spends its night plugged in, which means the real scheduling question is not how fast a van can be wrapped. It is how many vans you can keep off the board at once. We size the waves to the spare capacity you actually have. Release two and we take two, and the rest of the fleet keeps running routes while those two are in our bays.

Fleet pickup across Chicagoland is free, so a unit can leave the station and come back wrapped without a driver burning a shift on the round trip. Van numbers and per-unit variations are part of the print file, one file per vehicle, so nobody is cutting digits by hand in a bay at the end of a build.

Bring us the artwork and placement rules your account works to and we build to that spec. The proof comes back drawn on the EDV template with the real panel breaks on it, not a flat side view, so you can see where the logo lands next to the sliding door track before anything is printed. Before a van goes back we photograph each side against the approved layout, which gives you a record that the fleet matches what was signed off.

If you are taking over another operator's vans or changing identity across a station, book the work away from peak. Bay space in the fall is the first thing to go. Call (312) 597-1286 with your unit count and the mix of EDV and legacy Transit bodies and we will build the phasing around your route plan.
